This significantly higher frequency means that you can send computer data and voice data at the same time on the same line. All you need to do is make sure you have your DSL filter switched on; it should come configured that way from the factory.

Some faster, newer computers come with an internal router. Most, however, need an external one. You plug it into a power source, a phone jack, and your computer.
