Donovan McNabb is the face of the Philadelphia Eagles. The storied veteran is now in his 30s, but he’s nearly as effective as he’s ever been. With Brett Favre still playing, it shows that even on the wrong side of 30, QBs can still be effective.

In 09′, the Eagles are a team with one significant part, Michael Vick – whether Vick will be factor is yet to be determined. Sitting out a few years can really slow him down.

The Eagles will have to worry about staying healthy all season. Donovan McNabb played all 16 games in 08′ but has been injury prone the last 5 season or so.

The Eagles still do not have an overwhelming wide receiving unit – the Eagles offense is “death by a thousand papercuts.” However, there’s definitely some potential out wide.

As a result, the Eagles were forced to play without their star quarterback during their showdown against the New Orleans Saints in Philadelphia in week 2. The Saints are highly effective on offense, but their defense was just as proficient when it came to shutting down backup quarterback Kevin Kolb.

New Orleans won easily by a score of 48-22. The Eagles are now 1-1 in a very competitive division, where every win will matter.

Unfortunately, it seems as if the team must be prepared to play without McNabb in week 3, as it’s been stated in early reports that McNabb will not suit up for the team’s week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles are in a very strong division, it will be a battle all season long for NFC East supremacy surely. Will it be the Eagles?

For more Eagles talk, head on over to the Philadelphia Eagles forums and chat on the best football forumss online, all at RootZoo Sports.
