Enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast at a Relaxing Bed & Breakfast
Holidays are time to enjoy family and friends, but so often the holidays become a series of stressful days of meal planning and shopping and cleaning that take away the fun of the season. Why not enjoy all the beauty and ambiance of Thanksgiving, without any of the fuss? Book a stay at a historic Virginia bed and breakfast and leave your stress behind.
Thanksgiving at The Holladay House Bed and Breakfast, located in scenic Orange, Virginia, is an event not to be missed. Innkeepers Sam and Sharon Elswick create the perfect traditional Thanksgiving feast for their guests each year. This special dinner, at only $45 per guest, includes a dozen different homemade dishes, as well as a selection of fine, local wines.
In addition to offering a gourmet Thanksgiving dinner, the innkeepers at this Virginia inn also are offering some special rates to guests who book multiple nights. Book two nights and the second night is discounted 25 percent. Book three nights and you’ll get two nights at the regular rates, but the third night will be half off.
Built in’30, this stately Federal-style building has a rich history and is one of the stops on the Journey Through Hallowed Ground. This journey, created by the National Parks Service, includes dozens of historic spots along Virginia Route 15. The innkeepers have restored The Holladay House to its former glory, but offer plenty of modern amenities, such as guest rooms with whirlpool tubs and fireplaces.
In addition to all the wonderful cuisine and ambiance at the inn, the village of Orange and the surrounding area offer plenty of activities. Three presidential homes, those of Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and James Monroe are just minutes away. In fact, Montpelier, the home of James and Dolley Madison, is just four miles away and offers plenty of fun, holiday activities. In addition to historic sites, the area offers many vineyards and the innkeepers supply their guests with free wine tasting passes to several local wineries.
So this year, let innkeepers Sam and Sharon Elswick pamper you at their romantic Virginia inn. Forget about all the holiday stress and enjoy a truly unique Thanksgiving; it might even become an annual tradition.
