DC versus AC Power: Houses and appliances are made to use alternating current (AC) power. Motors can only generate DC power, so therefore it needs to be changed into usable current. This is done through what’s known as an inverter. Also, make sure the batteries aren’t overfilled with stored electricity from the windmill. Use a control module to regulate how much power is let into the batteries, and also to see how much is being used in the house throughout the day.
Watching Your Power: Many meters exist which display battery power available for immediate usage. They show power in the batteries themselves, and also show how much power is being used in the house right at that point in time.
Ease of Use: Windmills are a simple concept, and easy to build. Join them up with the home’s own power grid, or set them up to work by themselves. Also, you may want to set up a few solar panels which can generate electricity for days when there’s no wind. A complete system consists of a windmill, a few panels, and a power grid. Combined, you’ll pay a lot less for power company electricity.
