Halloween is just around the corner. You can almost feel it in the air as you go to supermarkets, read your daily newspaper and even browse the Internet. Tons and tons of ads and posters telling you that Halloween is yet, once again, about to come. This is probably the second biggest holiday, especially in the United States.

Think about all of the items that people spend money on … costumes, candy, decorations, statues and lights. But, of course, if you chose those costumes, you really would not be cool. For example, there were a lot of Amy Winehouse look-a-likes last year. But, that is so passe this year.

Really cool Halloween costumes are different than the norm. They may be items never seen before or even costumes that have a very rare vintage. The big question, though, is how do you find these costumes?

Here’s the first trick in finding cool Halloween costumes. Look around your neighborhood to see what’s cool. You’ll know it’s cool when most people, especially when celebrities, are wearing it, listening to it and talking about it.

Anything that spark your interest could be the cool. What’s cool really depends on who’s defining it. Sexy and sassy clothes could be cool to many… villain costumes could be cool to some… and super hero costumes could be really cool for others. What’s important is that you’ll dress up in a version of the costume that will elicit some good laugh.

Of course a lot of skimpy outfits could be funny, but some may not get any laughs, just looks. However, you decide to go about the Halloween costume idea, put your own spin on it and make sure to just have fun!

For me, the coolest Halloween costumes are those movie-themed Halloween costumes. GI Joe, X-men, Alice in Wonderland and Twilight are just some of the movies that people are talking about this year. For sure, dressing as Bumble Bee or Optimus Prime would be a hit.

Trying to be cool may not always be the best approach. But if you check out the scene and see who’s doing what and what’s hot, you could end up being really cool.
