Work, traffic, stress; life’s daily grind can really get to me. Sometimes I simply want to get away from all this. Personally, I prefer to get away in the middle of the sea. There’s nothing beats sailing into the open ocean with the balmy breeze, the sun, the clear blue skies, and the infinite azure beyond.

When sailing comes to mind, most people think that you have to be a captain or an experienced sailor to do it but it’s not entirely true. Based on my experience, I can add that it is not as hard as it may seem. I enrolled myself in a sailing institution just to understand the basics and the security precautions when on the ocean and that was it.

Everytime I sail, I always consider a number of important things like the location, the ideal time to travel, the timeframe, and how to rent a boat. Being a novice, I choose for day sailing and ensure that the weather forecast is fine for that day to guarantee a safe trip. I search the internet ahead or call a sailing club to ask for safe and close locations.

For the boat, I am no millionaire thus getting into a private yacht is certainly out of my list. Our local marina happens to have boats for rental that is within my budget. So I got the boat in check.The next thing is the must-haves in the journey: food and drink, cash, map, charts and float plan (both obtained from the sailing school or from a professional sailor), communication radio, first aid kit, sailing tools, and sailing gear.

To have my full gear, I put on sailing shoes or sailing boots. Though the sea may be calm in good weather, a strong breeze may rock the boat a couple of times so sailing shoes or sailing boots should help me hold my ground. As soon as all aspects are in check, I would be good to get out into the great ocean and savor the fun of sailing.

Wanna know some facts about Belize? It is the smallest of all the Central American countries but don’t let that fool you because it has Mayan archaeological sites such as: Caracol, Xunantunich and Lamanai, lots of miles of beautiful white sanded beaches, rain forests filled with wildlife, lots of animal species and a culture with a very noticeable British influence but unique at the same time.

They have an estimated population of only 333,000 in an area twice as big as Jamaica. Here you can find lots of different cultures including Garifunas, Creoles, Europeans and Mayans. It is believed that this country’s name comes from the native word be’lix, meaning “muddy water”, as they referred to the Belize River. There might be a lot of cultures in Belize but all of them have a thing in common: They are warm and friendly people.

Belizean cuisine is influenced by British, Mexican and Western Caribbean cooking. In this country plantains, rice and coconut milk are ingredients of almost all traditional dishes.

This is the only country in Central America where the official language is English but Spanish and creole are common too. It has a tropical weather with a range of 16 to 30 C year round. This along with national parks and a Barrier Reef, over 1,000 offshore Cayes or islands offers tons of fun things to do such as:

* Fishing close to the reef

* Scuba diving among colorful fishes

* Snorkeling around the coast

* River rafting

* Mangrove kayaking

* Hiking in the rain forest

* Bird watching guided tours

* Discovering Mayan ruins

* Cave tubing

* Cruising tours

And for all for all of those travelers concerned about the environment this is also a place where eco tourism is becoming very popular in this country.

So stop giving it too much thought and come over to this Caribbean Paradise!

Marina K. Villatoro, has lived in Central America – Costa Rica and Guatemala for over 10 years. She’s traveled these parts extensively and now loves to organize vacations to these amazing parts of the world.
Mark Anthony Cella and the Ferrari 250 Grand Touring Sport Coupe

Mark Anthony Cella and the Ferrari 250 Grand Touring Sport Coupe

Before the Berlinetta or Sport Coupe, is the Ferrari 250 GTO. What made the GTOs strong were the record braking V12 GT racing engines. GTO, or Gran Turismo Omologato, translated from Italian, meaning Grand Touring Homologated, and homologated is Official Agreement. 250 is the measurement of cubic centimeters inside each cylinder.

Mark Anthony Cella’s Official Agreement is the Car is for Pure Racing

From 1953-64 Ferrari built the SWB model which truly put Ferrari on the center stage. It was their most acknowledged line. It was the first Ferrari to have four wheel disc brakes. It had a model which was the first four seater for this sports car. It had a V12 weighing half as much of competitors, cranking out up to 280bhp at 7000 rpm. It’s 4 gear race engine rocketed its victories at so many races the list is endless so here’s just a few:

In the 1960 season it took 1st-4th place in the Le Mans 24 hour race, leaving it’s nearest rivals to eat dust. It took 1st-3rd in its third consecutive victory of the 5500 km Tour de France. Later that season for a second consecutive win at Goodwood, driver Sterling Moss took a victory by lapping the entire field. Then it won all over the rest of the season.

The car weighs only 2,314 pounds which equates to a very high power to weight ratio. Its top speed reached 152 and it hit 60 from a dead stop in 6.2 seconds. All of these figures were superb in 1960.

Mark Anthony Cella Agrees it’s One of the Greatest Ferraris Ever Built

Enthusiasts envied the fact that owners of this car could show up, unpack and race in the same unmodified car, occasionally changing tires. The only thing necessary was to paste on numbers. The competition models were lighter and had 30-40 more horsepower, regardless of which one you were in other manufacturers didn’t stand a chance.

Sports Car Intl placed it as their 7th Top Sports Car of the 60′s. Motor Trend voted it 5th on their top ten Greatest Ferraris of all time and Mark A Cella rated it first place on his list of top Muscle Cars of the 60′s. It leads over his 67 Corvette Sting Ray and 3rd place 68 Chevrolet Camaro.

Professionals are attracted to Queensland, Australia, like a magnet, and chefs are no exception. With the growing culture, in Queensland, comes some of the best chefs.

Since I just got to see the Disney movie Prince of Persia, I have for you the Prince of Persia movie review. The ending somewhat worked for the film although I was not pleased with it, however the characters were in sync with the game and the action and plot were good and easy to follow. Although Disney may have slightly messed up the ending, I think the casting was really good. Spoilers are contained in this review.

The plot was very easy to keep up with. The prince was found by the king in the marketplace when he was standing up for a friend. This courageous act impressed the king and he immediately adopted him making him a prince. He is later, when he is older, deceived by his brother into giving the king a robe that kills him. Now the prince is trying to figure out why his brother would set him up like this, while being a fugitive on the run. Will he be able to prove that his is not guilty and try to find out for sure was it his brother that did this?

The characters were pretty accurate to the game. The prince and the princess’s witty banter and argument continually boarder line flirting. The princess comes off as headstrong and feisty as ever and the prince comes off a clumsy and charming like he is supposed to. The agility, the look, and even the accent are actually well done as they take you on this adventure.

The action in the movie was really nicely done. The fight sequences along with the ones that included the dagger were entertaining as well interesting. Most of the action kept you on the end of your seat. There were a few instances that the special effects looked generated but it didn’t happen so often that it was a turn off, but I was surprised that it happened at all. Also the ending perfectly wrapped up everything in what seems to be a perfect bow. They found who really killed the king, which I won’t give away, and everyone lives because time was reversed. It’s a good family ending but with how cut throat it was becoming it seems to contrast with everyone just living.

In conclusion this would have to be 4 out of 5. It worth seeing but due to the special effect mishaps and the ending for me, it’s still a four. If you want something that boys will enjoy because of the action and girls can enjoy because of the love story this is a great family movie. Although, really the entire family will get a kick out of this movie. Well that’s it for this Prince of Persia movie review.

Who are they? Quetzals are considered one of the world’s most beautiful birds and the Guatemalan currency is named after them. They are also beautiful and exotic birds known for their bright colors and long tails.

Color: The Female has dark green fathers and a red belly and the male is unmistakable. Its feathers are from a vibrant green with its distinctive long tail feathers. There is also their amazingly beautiful scarlet belly and the white lower tail surface.

Food: Quetzals are considered specialized fruit-eaters, although they mix their diet with insects and small frogs.

Growth: Males can be a meter long and can weigh up to half pound because of their tales. The body itself measures only 38 to 40.5 cm, the tail on the other hand can be 61 cm.

Age: Quetzal can’t live in captivity, that’s why no one has been able to study how long they can live.

Habits: Quetzals spend their days sitting on the forest canopy eating. Generally they live groups of 4 or 6 individuals or in couples.

Kids: Females can only have two eggs at once, these eggs are blue and measure 3 centimeters. The time it takes them to come out of the shell is 17 to 18 days. Male and female take turns incubating the eggs. Young quetzals can fly at about three weeks of age, but males do not begin to grow their long tail plumes for three years.

Mating: During mating season, male quetzals grow the twin tail feathers that characterize them and can grow up to one meter long. What distinguished then is that females do not have long tails, but they do share the brilliant green and red coloring of their mates. The reproductive time is between March and June.

Importance: There are six different kinds of Quetzals and they are all endangered. These beautiful exotic birds because of all the illegal hunting and the destruction of their habitat are in the list of to be extinct animals unless things change.

Quick Fact: A Guatemalan legend says that when the Spaniards came there was a horrible fight between them and the Quiches (ancient town of Mayan natives), once it was over many quetzals landed on dead Mayan’s bodies, where they got stained in their blood and that’s where they got their red chests from.

Where can they be found? Quetzals can’t live outside of a tropical forest. They can be found in small areas from Chiapas, Mexico to Panama.
