What could be better for a relaxing holiday than an island that boasts a beach for every day of the year? Well that is what you can expect if you join the thousands of people that enjoy Antigua holidays each year. Here are some of our favourites.

Just for the great name Jabberwock Beach has to appear on the list, but that is not all you get with a mile of glorious white sand and the gently lapping Caribbean Sea. Whilst relaxing on Turners Beach you can take in views of the island of Montserrat and top up your tan or if snorkelling is your thing, then you might like to take to Darkwood beach where the sea life is more than happy to welcome you on your Caribbean holidays.

For those of you who like to bake in the sun, the shade of the palm trees on Half Moon Beach might be just the ticket, but get there early and remember that the shade disappears everywhere at noon. Finally, Hawksbill Beach is a haven for sun worshipers who like to avoid tan lines of any sort. This is the only beach from our selection that caters to naturists, so be sure you are on the correct one before stripping off.

Away from the beaches, harking back to the days when the British Navy ruled the waves is the fully restored Nelson’s Dockyard, which recreates how the harbour looked over 200 years ago. Nelson’s Dockyard is located in the English Harbour area of Antigua along with other historical sites, including 18thcentury Clarence House, which was built for royal visitors. This part of the island is also home to some of the best nightlife for holidays in the area.

Whatever you expect from an island break, be sure to take advantage of some of the great late holiday deals available and see what Antigua has to offer.

Often when on Dubai holidays, or indeed any holiday, local culture is not necessarily high up on your list of things to investigate. Folklore is an undeniable part of all cultures, enjoyed (and later studied) across the globe ever since its initial creation. Here follow a few of the more interesting ones from some of the world’s most popular holiday destinations.

Dubai

One Dubai native that is generally feared in folktales across the world is the striped hyena. Hyenas are often said to be demons in disguise, sucking the blood from fallen soldiers (apparently the fate of improperly slain werewolves according to the Greeks) and others at night; they are traditionally seen as symbols of treachery, stupidity and evil. They are said to be ridden by witches or magicians at night by the Baluch and inhabitants of northern India. Striped hyenas have also been associated with love and fertility, the latter in particular resulting in their various body parts being used in traditional love medicines.

Antigua

Antigua holidays may reveal quite a different kind of folklore. An intriguing local custom is the antlion charm. Known as “jampeepee” (or “John-pee-pee”) by the locals, the insect is summoned by reciting a chant (“Jam-pee-pee! Jam-pee-pee! Mammy call you for funjee and saltfish”) and lightly twirling a stick around the edge of its pit. According to local folklore this is all in aid of sharing the national dish, which once fed Antiguan ancestors before finding its way onto hotel menus.

The Maldives

Most Maldivian mythology and folktales revolve around the islands’ origins, particularly the introduction of the all important coconut tree and tuna fish. The latter was allegedly made when a mighty sorcerer made coconut trees grows out of the skulls of the corpses of the first Maldivian settlers, while the tuna fish was said to have been brought to local waters by a brave mythical seafarer named Bodu Niyami Kalefanu. These certainly make Maldives holidays more interesting!

Antigua has a booming tourist industry and is a popular destination for tourists, who flock to the Caribbean every year in the summers. Whenever you plan your Antigua holidays, you should ask around or maybe research a little on the internet about possible touring spots. For your convenience, a selected list is provided below.

When packing up for your Antigua holidays, ensure that you have packed lots of sun lotion, if you are keen on visiting the many beautiful beaches. Antigua holidays are actually true dreams for beach lovers with the island being home to 365 beaches, said to represent each day of the year. All beaches have open public access, and any visitor to Antigua can enjoy a day at the beach, without worrying about how to pay your way to a private beach. The only hurdle is the selection of the beach to be visited since there are so many of them.

The more calmer and peaceful beaches are on the western side of Antigua. The Fort St. James is a picturesque beach that is highly gratifying. This is very well-known for its gorgeous sunsets and is popular among tourists. You will have a great time here, enjoying the sunset and the sunrise and walking on the sandy beaches and taking a swim in the blue waters.

Devils Bridge is also an amazing place. The outlook is naturally formed due to the attrition of mineral by the waves of the sea. This place got this name due to the number of suicides devoted by slaves during the period of slavery.

For all the golf lovers, there is a Cedar Valley Golf Club, which is highly recommended. The Cedar Valley golf course is hugely spectacular, covering an area of around six thousand yards and housing seventy holes. This falls among the most popular golf courses in Antigua.

However, if you are greatly in love with cricket, there is a Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, which will hold great interest for you. If you get a chance to visit Antigua during a match season, you must not miss the chance to be part of the large crowd at this humongous stadium. These large crowds have an energy of their own, which you would love, when visiting the stadium and being part of an amazing experience. For the history and nature freaks, there are many museums in Antigua that could be visited. If you want to look into the history of Antigua, it is a wonderful place to start exploring Antiguan history, and you will get an overall feel of the Caribbean. You must visit the museum whenever you get the chance of visiting Antigua. In this manner, you will learn great many things about the culture and people of Antigua.

One advice is that you must explore the parts of Antigua with your tour guide, as there is a chance that you might get lost, because you are not familiar with the place. Once you get here, you will realise that it was worth it.

For Antigua Holidays and other Caribbean holidays visit this Caribbean holiday website.

St. Lucia Island is popular for its mineral baths, beautiful clean beaches, bays and banana plantations. The island, because of its stunning beauty, attracts tourists and visitors from all around the world. From well-developed hotels, resorts, shopping malls and taverns to well-reserved nature spots and natural resources, St. Lucia holidays offer many attractions for the tourists and visitors.

The Pitons is an attraction that people from all around the world come to see. The famous two majestic peaks in the area are Gros Piton and Petit Piton. These are two twin volcanoes. They are not active and are completely covered with lush green plants and vegetations. Climbing the pitons is a common activity for the visitors and tourists that come for St. Lucia holidays.

St. Lucia holidays are more or less incomplete unless its bays and beaches are visited as they are famous worldwide. One such bay is the Marigot Bay, situated in the south of Castries. The natural beauty of this bay, with exotic palm trees, makes it a wonderful attraction. This bay is arguably the most stunning beach in the Caribbean. If one goes on St. Lucia holidays, it is almost criminal not to visit this beach.

Rodney Bay is also a popular beach near Castries. It is a man-made lagoon and is well known for its taverns, resorts, hotels and amazing nightlife. It is also a centre of different water sports and activities in St. Lucia.

Castries is also the capital of St. Lucia. The architecture of St. Lucia might be a bit insipid but that is owing to the fires and a few other similar regretful incidents that took place there. Despite that, the public markets of the city are amazing and well worth a visit, selling from handicrafts, to varieties of exotic fruits and vegetables.

Mount Soufrire is the only “drive-in” volcano in the world. The attraction is a lunar landscape. One can drive through the volcano on a zigzag forested road. There are trails and observation platforms to have a close look at the hissing steam and sulphur springs.

Diamond Botanical Gardens is a must see place for St. Lucia holidays. The famous Diamond Mineral Baths are also located here. These geological attractions are one of their kinds in Caribbean islands. In the gardens, there is also a beautiful Diamond Waterfall that keeps changing its colours, a number of times a day.

St. Lucia boasts of a number of spectacular points of scenic beauty, which could also be viewed from several observation points, such as Fond St-Jacques.

The northern shore of the islands has a lot to offer to the adventurous tourists who like to explore. Known as Grand Anse, this part of the island is hardly developed, with more natural reserves and sites, which are naturally not dense with population. Instead, one can find several kinds of birds and animals here that are hard to find elsewhere, such as dangerous snakes, the green sea turtles, leatherback, loggerhead and hawksbill. Maria Islands Nature Reserve and Fregate Islands Nature Reserve are other two popular natural reserve sites. There are only a few islands in Caribbean that offer turtle watching and bird watching.

For St Lucia Holidays and other Caribbean holidays visit this Caribbean holiday website.

Summers are the best time when people go on holidays; both families and individuals like to refresh themselves from the boring routine of life. Travel companies offer a number of packages; some are affordable and some are not. People prefer a holiday plan that is enjoyable and affordable.

There are many beautiful places in the Caribbean, and Saint Lucia is one of them. It is an exotic and captivating holiday destination in the world. Saint Lucia is well known due to its hotels, tourist trails, resorts, parks, and shopping malls. It possesses so many places that attract tourists towards Saint Lucia. Every year, hundreds and thousands of tourists visit Saint Lucia.

The peak tourist season is December to March, during which the holidays in Saint Lucia are very expensive. Rents go up to 10 times higher than the off-peak rates, and similar is the case with airfares. Tourists from Europe and North America are not really bothered by high rates, or off-peak rates, as they want to get an escape from the cold weather of their locations. The highly recommended tourist sites of Saint Lucia are Castries, Margot bay, Pigeon Island, Rodney bay, Soufrire, and Vieux Fort.

The most developed part of the island is Castries, which is the capital of Saint Lucia. The town of Castries has been twice destroyed by fire, and has lost its original architecture. There is an interesting mix of historical architecture, and modern buildings due to rebuilding. Visitors will find plenty of shopping spots in Castries. There are many duty free shops at Pointe Seraphine for tourists. There are street markets in Castries, where local vendors sell crafts, and fruits.

On the south of Castries is a small village of Marigot. It has become very popular for sailing, yachting and for romantic sites. Accommodation is very expensive due to charming surroundings. Marigot Bay has been featured in many movies as well.

The historical site, Pigeon Island, is in the north of Castries. It served as a base for the US military during World War 2. National historic park of the pigeon island is a very famous destination among the tourists. Along with the history, tourists can enjoy the beaches of the Pigeon’s Island.

Soufrire is located on the south western coast of Saint Lucia. It is the oldest town in Saint Lucia. If tourists want to have a taste of French colonial architecture then Soufrire is the place to be. The waterfront of this town is very picturesque and draws attention of the tourists. Soufrire has everything, from beautiful beaches to gigantic mountains. For the adventurous travellers, it is the perfect destination.

A visit to Vieux Fort is mandatory for the tourists who are interested in eco-tourism; one of the key attractions of this area is the Maria Islands Nature Reserve. The Reserve is a magnificent place to observe local wildlife, as tourists get an opportunity to see rare species of animals, and reptiles of the Caribbean.

For St Lucia Holidays and other Caribbean holidays visit this Caribbean holiday website.

Everyone take a lot of time to plan their annual holidays, the whole year you are making plans to have the best holiday, but some things are inevitable, and they ruin your holiday. As we all know that illness, and misfortune can come at any time no matter how much careful you have been. Therefore, you must always stay prepared to deal with any such situation.

It is very normal that due to the change of the place, the weather may not suit you, or the food does not suit you, and you become ill because of it. Many illnesses are very common among the tourists travelling to any place of the world including gastric illnesses, salmonella, and E. coli. Therefore, every tourist must take good care of himself when travelling to Caribbean, or any other place.

It is always better to understand that prevention is better than cure. You must always take steps to keep illness away from you instead of trying to get rid of it once you contract it. Even after too much care, you become sick you, must take steps that put you immediately on the road to recovery. many resorts and hotels in the Caribbean provide services of doctors to their guests, even if they are not available, you must get to the doctor nearby.

You can also contact to your tour representative to get medical treatment, and if it is not possible for you to contact him/her, you can ask from your resort or hotel reception to get medical treatment.

Although you have to incur expenses at the spot, but when you get back you can claim these expenses, so you must carefully keep all the receipts. If you have a travel insurance policy, you must check if it would fly you home for the treatment. If you have minor illness, it is quite possible that it will not cover it, so you should better get the treatment where you are staying. In case you have some serious illness, or some bad injuries, then it is very important that you must rush back home to get treatment at the hospital near to your home.

The cases of gastric illnesses have increased greatly over the year, in the Caribbean. This is because of the unhygienic condition of the food that you eat at the resorts, and the hotels. If you fear that the food is not hygienic, then you must not eat that food.

If you have suffered holiday illness in Caribbean because of poor food, while staying in a package tour hotel, you can claim against your tour operator when you are back in the UK. You must seek legal help in this connection, and should not accept any sort of payout from your tour operator before legal help.

Food poisoning is the major issue that the tourists have to face when they are on a holiday to any place such as Caribbean, therefore you must take care of this if you do not want to ruin your holiday. You can also seek advice regarding the hotels, and the resorts from other tourists who have been there before.
