Your Xbox console communicates with you using a light system, your power supply will glow either a red, orange, or green hue; red to be avoided like the plague, and obviously a green light being ideal. However, if you encounter an orange light, do not fret. This article contains some reliable tips on how to deal with these pesky lights, and how to go about getting back into green.

An illuminated orange light on the power supply is an easy fix. The issue can range from one of two things: either the console is turned off, or the more likely reason, the power supply is disconnected from the console. Essentially, all the orange light indicates is that the Xbox is in a state of sleep, or stand-by mode.

A sometimes confusing issue people come across is that even with their console turned off, the power supply still glows orange. The explanation for this is because the power supply cord may not be properly inserted completely inside the power socket of the console. Pushing the cords together firmly can sometimes remedy this. However, if the orange light is paired with the fact the console won’t turn on, there may likely be a problem with the Xbox unit itself.

If this is the case, the whole frightening red light topic may develop in your head. Don’t panic. There are some basic repair steps that you should take to fix this brightly colored foe. First, start by completely powering off your Xbox 360 console. Then, disconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console.

In order to disconnect the cord connecting the power supply to the console, first you must unplug the power cord from the wall socket. After doing so, disconnect the power cord from the console. Then, reconnect all of the cords and attempt to turn the console back on. If your console still won’t cooperate, you will then want to refer to the troubleshooting steps that can be found in the Microsoft knowledge base article.

To prevent future complications, make sure that all of the openings in the power supply are free to ventilate. Make sure you do not put the power supply on a bed or any type of furniture as this will block the ventilation openings. Also, a commonly made mistake is to put the power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase or rack. Lastly, do not put it on a stereo speaker or any other heat source, as this will in turn heat up the Xbox 360, and further frustrate you when that power supply doesn’t glow green.

Encountering a system freeze-up while you are using your Xbox is an extremely irritating event. Whether the problem is a heat issue or another freeze-inducing problem, it is nonetheless a major inconvenience to deal with. Fortunately, there is lots of accessible information available when it comes to repairing your Xbox 360 during these circumstances.

You may already be well aware that heat needs to be removed from your Xbox in order for it to function efficiently and properly. Otherwise, you will soon begin to see the system freeze, or experience odd artifacts in the graphics. As these become apparent, this is an indicator that it is time to clean out your console.

There is the likelihood that game lockups can be caused by DVD issues. However, if you are experiencing problems only while playing games and in specific spots during the games, you are probably due for a system clean-up. Repairing your Xbox 360′s heat issues as soon as possible will guarantee you will get back to playing quickly.

If you decide to open up the console to diagnose the problem, first you must remove the hard drive and the DVD drive while leaving the rest of the system intact. Start by shooting the heat-sinks with compressed air while working your way out. If you have purchased a new can of air, test spray some away from the system to avoid spraying out the liquid propellant as you move through your Xbox. You can cause serious damage to the board and electronics by spraying it with the subzero liquid.

It is meaningful to note that the heat generators are circled in red, and the cooling inlets and outlets are in blue. From there, you want to continue spraying compressed air by cleaning the dust from the surface of the board. Make sure you pay close attention to the air holes at the front and sides of the case. If not carefully checked, these holes can lead to serious problems and repair for the Xbox 360.

After cleaning the motherboard with compressed air, the next step is to remove the backing from the heat-sink while placing it squarely on top of the chip. Put firm pressure on the backing for at least two minutes. The last step is to replace the standard power course for the fan with a higher voltage power source. This should better the fan speed while eliminating the system’s chances of locking up.

This can be tad complicated if, like many, you are not a technical wizard. If this describes you, then you may be better off handing over the system to the professionals to clean your system. However, be aware that there are plenty of various alternatives out there to repair your heat issues other than sending it away to the clutches of Microsoft.

Imagine you have just returned into town after successfully completed a quest that has taken you hours to complete. Nothing left to do but save, right? All of a sudden your television suddenly becomes discolored or even fuzzy. Hoping that it is nothing more than a TV malfunction, your console does the worst thing possible-it freezes altogether. God have mercy on whoever is in your direct vicinity. A frozen game is every gamer’s worst nightmare. However, there are a number of ways to go about fixing this situation quickly and efficiently.

There are a few reasons the Xbox will flash these error alerts. One problem is one that many will likely experience, but there could also be a number of varying problems that may factor in. To diagnose this problem, one must understand what are called the “E” errors.

An “E” error signifies when your Xbox 360 displays one red light in the bottom left hand corner. This will typically show up once the console is rebooted. After reloading the system, you should receive one red flashing light and an onscreen error of some sort. These errors are conveyed by an “E”, and will be followed by two numbers.

Should you receive an E64, E65 or E66 error, this means that there is something wrong with the DVD drive. Overheating can be a culprit of this. It is suggested that you look online for a guide on how you can repair your Xbox 360 when there are DVD drive errors. Restarting the system can sometimes be a quick fix of this.

If you come across an E67, E68 or an E69 error, this simply means there is a problem with the hard drive itself. You can try to forego your hard drive and play without it, or you can attempt to reformat it. If you are going to attempt to reformat it, make sure you have instructions from a reputable repair service or guide online and follow it closely. If you come across an E73 message, your console has a general hardware issue. The Ethernet or networking port may attribute to this. You can investigate and see if it is truly a cable problem by playing without the Ethernet cable plugged in.

Of the various “E” errors, the most common message is the E74 error. You may be experiencing this because the AV cables are not correctly installed. This can sometimes be corrected by unplugging your Xbox, and then plugging it back in. If the problem does not cease to exist, it may be because of a faulty ANA chip or a general hardware error related to your system overheating.

There is nothing more annoying then having your entertainment shot to a halt due to a mysterious “E” error, but before you can repair your Xbox 360, it is important to determine what exactly each error means. After identifying the problem, look online for solutions or reference to some of the simple methods listed in this article.

The Xbox 360 is by no means a cheap product to buy. Hence it understandable to be a little more than irked when the machine decides to bite the dust. It seems a little absurd to have to pay to get it fixed when you have already paid more than enough buying the machine in the first place. A frequently asked question is “can I repair my Xbox 360 for free?”

To answer this question, yes. In fact, you are going to find that there are bounties of possible solutions that can help solve your dilemma. The first technique to try out is unplugging the power. If you try this, you need to remove the hard drive and then plug in your game console. After plugging in your game console, press the power button. Hopefully this did the trick. If it is working, shut the power off and reattach your hard drive back in and get back to cracking skulls on Xbox Live. If this fails, try one of these other steps.

A second route to go by is removing all of the cables plugged into the console. First, start by unplugging your Xbox 360 and removing the hard drive. Next, remove all of the colored cables including the video one. From there, plug in the console and start it back up to see if it worked. If neither of these techniques failed to correct the problem, regrettably to say there is a more serious predicament at hand.

You may be wondering if it is still possible at this point to “repair my Xbox 360 for free.” If you haven’t already done so, make sure you check if you are still covered by the extended warranty if you purchased it in the past. Microsoft has the extended the warranty support to accommodate you and the countless others who experience the same type of problems.

There may be a number of reasons your Xbox 360 may be experiencing difficulties, but overheating is certainly the most common problem. Because of this, it is essential that you check to make sure your console is getting enough ventilation. After making sure it has enough air circulation, blow all of the vents out with compressed air.

The closing item to consider is opening up the machine on your own and following instructions that you find online. However, recognize the fact that repairing your Xbox 360 on your own is a risky endeavor, as you will void any warranties if the console is worked on by anybody except Microsoft. Although it is chancy, repairing it yourself can save you $150, rather than Microsoft repairing and shipping it back out to you weeks or even months down the road. Deciding the best path to take for repairing your Xbox is up to you. Nonetheless, be aware that there are plenty of cheap and effective routes to take that don’t involve sending it to Microsoft.

Many gamers have experienced the ungodly frustration of having their discs firmly lodged inside of their consoles. For many, the most natural reaction would be to aggressively try to tear it out. You could send your console to Microsoft for a lengthy, and more than likely, costly repair. Like many people on a budget, this is not an option. You could save your money by purchasing or downloading an Xbox 360 repair guide.

There are a few different methods available for you to remove the disc by hand. Initially, your Xbox 360 repair guide will suggest you do is to reset your console by unplugging it for a few minutes. Then, reattach the power cord and see if this did the trick. If you did not garner any results, repeat the process.

Things can get a little tricky now, which makes it all the more crucial to closely follow your Xbox 360 repair guide. Before you start, remove face plate in the front of the console. Then, grab a thick paper clip (or something with similar malleability) and straighten one end of it. Upon removing the face plate you will notice two small holes underneath the DVD player, and one hole to the right.

The next step will vary being that there are three different DVD drives the Xbox 360 uses. If you have a Samsung or Toshiba, your Xbox 360 repair guide will advise you to find the small hole located on the right underneath the X on the DVD drive faceplate. Now, push your straightened paper clip (or malleable object) in the hole until it hits the gear. The gear needs to be spun clockwise. Continue to push gently until you feel it move smoothly.

For Hitatchi DVD drive users, you are going to want to poke the first hole on the left. Follow the same fore-mentioned procedures by poking the hole to get the gear to move. Regardless of what type of DVD drive you have, it is vital you take your time and do not push too hard. If you miss the correct spot, you can cause more damage than progress.

As soon as the tray starts to eject, pull it gently and carefully. After successfully opening the tray, future issues should be much more manageable thanks to the helpful Xbox 360 repair guide. Disc out, and a couple of hundred dollars saved.

The thought of repairing such a technical machine like a computer, television, or gaming system is rather frightening to most. However, Xbox 360 repair does not have to be the daunting task it’s thought out to be. As long as you take your time and follow simple directions, you can save loads of money by repairing the machine on your own.

However, don’t be fooled into thinking a child could repair an Xbox 360; there are some basic tools and technical skills required for Xbox 360 repair. But you certainly do not need a degree in engineering to accomplish such a feat.

While there are an assortment of errors and causes for your Xbox 360 needing repair, something every gamer is distressed at the thought of is the term coined the “red ring of death”. Before rushing into anything, check to see if you are still covered by a warranty. If so, it would be wise not to mess with the console. Send it in to Microsoft and have the professionals deal with the issue. If you take this course of action, it is important to note that you should not open up the console yourself, as this will void the warranty.

Although it can be disheartening to encounter such an error, it should be elevating to hear that only 6% of Xbox 360s that receive the red ring of death error are not repairable. The odds are in your favor that your Xbox will be repaired if you adhere to directions closely. To get started, mosey on over to your local hardware store to pick up the tools necessary to perform the fix. Be sure to research exactly what utensils you will need to operate on the machine.

If you’re reading this right now, your worst nightmares have become a reality – your Xbox 360 is broken. Maybe it was fine at first, but then that green ring of lights turned red, and you knew something was really wrong.

Like anyone in this situation, you’d like to know how to fix your Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, most of the methods for doing it yourself are pretty strange, and not too reliable.

For instance, you may have heard about the towel trick. If you haven’t, don’t try it on your console.

That’s because the towel trick – wrapping your Xbox 360 in a towel – isn’t reliable, and it’s much more likely to set the machine on fire than it is to make anything better. This isn’t a good fix.

In fact, it’s just another myth on the Internet.

Another fix that’s nearly a myth is the idea that cracking open your Xbox 360′s case and getting out the soldering iron is a good idea. You might see this suggestion online, but think twice before using it. Your Xbox 360 is a delicate piece of electronics, and only a tech should mess with it. Otherwise, you’ll just do damage and void the warranty.

What’s left to fix your console?

One option is deciding to use Microsoft’s advice and sending your console back to them. They’ll fix it, but having their professionals do the work will cost you a hundred and forty dollars, plus shipping, unless your warranty’s still in effect. You probably won’t see your console for a month and a half to two months, either. Sound like a lot of fuss and expense? Many people think so.

Even if you still have a valid warranty and can skip the repair charge, remember that you’ll have to pay shipping. Plus, you’ll still need to securely package your Xbox 360 for its trip back to Microsoft, and there’s no way out of having to deal with that two month wait.

Many people aren’t willing to pay this much or wait that long.

If you’re among them, your best choice is finding an Xbox 360 repair guide you can trust. It’ll show you just how to repair your system by yourself – safely. It’s not all that hard to fix an Xbox, but you do have to know what you’re doing. The Internet is full of bad information – find a good source for repair info.

Repairing your Xbox at home keeps you from having to give up the system for months at a time or shell out more than a hundred dollars.

If you are searching for XBOX Repair Service keep in mind that you can repair your system yourself for less money and a lot faster! Click Here to check out the top-rated XBOX repair service and get your XBOX 360 fixed in under two hours!

If you’re an XBOX 360 gamer, then you’re certainly not alone! It’s easily the most popular game system out there. Sadly, it will break sometimes and then you’re faced with those dreaded 3 red lights lit up on your XBOX. Let’s take a closer look at how you can repair an XBOX 360.

There’s all sorts of XBOX repair suggestions floating around. Different people have suggested various strategies to fix a broken XBOX 360, but most of these are complete bunk!

As an example, someone revealed “the towel trick”. For some reason someone came up with the solution that wrapping up your system in a bath towel would magically repair it! Naturally this is more likely to start a fire than repair your XBOX 360!

And unfortunately this silly trick isn’t the only XBOX repair myth out there – there’s a lot more. Some people have attempted to crack open the case and used a welding tool to fix the problem. There’s a lot of working parts in an XBOX, and breaking open the case like this is bound to cause more troubles – don’t try it!

Obviously, you also have the option of sending in your system to Microsoft and let them repair it, but this isn’t a great alternative either. You will be without your your system for 4-8 weeks and you also have to pay $140 plus shipping to have it repaired. That’s a long wait and a lot of money!

I’ve always thought that the cost Microsoft charges is way too expensive. They should be prepared to help their customers for a more reasonable price, especially when it doesn’t cost them close to that amount to fix your system. But I imagine they are out to earn money anyway possible.

The best option is to get a good XBOX 360 repair manual to show you how to fix it on your own. You can now find a few XBOX repair manuals that you can find that have been assembled by master technicians that have lots of experience in repairing the XBOX 360.

These guides have easy to follow directions and the best ones even include video instructions to make it even easier to know what to do. Truth is, repairing your XBOX isn’t complicated when you have the correct instructions.

The 360 is an amazing system that continues to dominate the video game market. And thanks to XBOX 360 repair guides, you have an simple way to repair your XBOX if you ever need to. Happy gaming!
