<p>The following plyometric exercises are all very different and effective ways to improve your vertical. They are push-up jumps, drop jumps, and deep lunge jumps. Make sure that you do all three and not just one of them.</p>
<p>A push-up jump involves a few simple steps. First you should start standing straight up with your feet shoulder-width apart. As quickly as you can get down into a push-up position and do one push-up. Once you have done the push up bring your legs back under your body and jump up as high as you can. Continue this for a certain number of repetitions.</p>
<p>Sometimes improving your vertical can be as simple as stepping off of an edge during plyometric exercises. Get a box that is two feet tall or higher and stand on the edge of it. Step off of the box and land without bending your knees much if any. Once you land do not move and stay frozen in the position for a few seconds. Then, get back on to the box and repeat for a certain amount of repetitions.</p>
<p>If you really want to improve your vertical, then this is the exercise for you. It is called a deep lunge jump. You will be sore next day so make sure you do not do this exercise the day before you have a big game or something like that. All you have to do is get into lunge position and push off with both feet so you jump forward. When you land, land with the same foot forward. Go all the way down the court using that same forward foot. Then come back the other way using a different foot.</p>
<p>Doing these exercises is a sure, but still simple, way to improve your vertical. Plyometrics are among the most effective vertical jumping exercises in the country, and for a reason. You will probably be sore afterwards, but it will be worth it when you jump inches higher.</p>
<p>The only time you should not feel sore after these exercises is if you have done them before. If you have not done them before and you are not sore the next day then you are either not performing the exercises correctly or you are not doing them enough.</p>

<p>Athletes like basketball players wants to perform better and jump higher. There are a lot of things that one can do to improve vertical jumping. One of these things are vertical jumping drills. Some may find it difficult to do but once you know what you want, what you need and what will best work for you, then you are off to go. These drills can do a lot in improving one&#8217;s performance and jump.</p>
<p>What you need in vertical jumping drills varies. It is either you can do it with balls, platforms, stairs but with a common goal of improving your vertical jump. Before you start doing the drills, remember to have warm up exercises first to avoid injuries. In this ways you can prevent damage to your muscles. Stretching matters a lot in your flexibility which makes a lot in vertical jump.</p>
<p>Strength is much needed to your vertical jump. Improve your leg muscles especially the calf and quads. You can have skipping and sprinting exercises to increase your vertical jump performance. The stairs is one of the best things that one can use. Running back and forth using the stairs can yield good results.</p>
<p>Jumping is a good drill itself. Practice jumping. You can practice double, elevated and explosive jumps everyday to achieved the vertical jump that you have been working hard on. Rest is also important. Your body also needs rest. Avoid overworking your muscles for it can lead to injuries or damage to your muscles. Know when to work and when to rest.</p>
