Learning to speak Japanese can change your life. It was so much simpler than I expected, and it fully transformed my life.

It wasn’t always simple, contemplating my previous failures at it. I could open my own store with all the not fully completed programs I have purchased over the years. I realized a thing or two, but nothing more than some simple greetings.

I learned that individuals achieve information in one of two ways. The first group is what we’d call textbook learners. Believe me I’ve tried finding out from books many instances and it really just doesn’t work for myself…does that sound acquainted?

As a non-book-learner, I assumed I couldn’t possible learn Japanese. Fortunately my want to study pushed me to new ways.

A trainer pal of mine recommended I strive a educating style that used numerous dynamic interactivity such as movies, audio, games, quizzes. I hardly realized I was studying I used to be so entertained. The best part, it kept me moving forward.

That’s why I really like my Rocket Japanese! The abundance of glowing feedback really sold me on trying this out. Taking a quick look on the web, I met someone who had had wonderful stories about using Rocket Japanese. Incredibly she had been on a break in Hawaii and made pals with several Japanese folks also on vacation and get this….they spoke only Japanese. Wow!

Obviously that’s impressive. So I bit the bullet and instantly signed up for the course. Well, the funny thing is, as soon as I received the course materials I used to be somewhat overwhelmed by the extensive amount of learning material within it. I was so glad to seek out that Sayaka created a clear, straightforward to know route. In fact, she directs you each step of the way in which via learning the language.

I think one of the distinctive things you study is: It is feasible that you could know a phrase or too and still be ignorant concerning the language. If you aren’t aware of the history and the way the society works, you only have half of the story. As somebody who was genuinely fascinated by Japanese society, I loved these sections.

I can’t say sufficient good about this language instructing tool. This is the one Japanese language program that may hold you working till the end. It also consists of little test so you possibly can see your progress. The section that the test covers is chosen by you.

This makes positive you recognize the material before you get new stuff. This is the only approach I was ever going to learn the language.

Once you get to know Japanese people better, you might be interested to talk about your hobbies. ‘Hobby’ in Japanese is ‘Shumi’. If you have at least one hobby that you are not afraid to talk about, it is very good and with the Japanese vocabulary that you have at your disposal, you can discuss a lot about it.

The following are some of the most popular hobbies that Japanese people are interested in. Dokusho = Reading, Engei = Gardening, Ikebana = Traditional flower arranging, Ryori = Cooking, Haikingu = Hiking, Supotsu = Sports, Rakugaki = Drawing, Undou = Exercise, Eiga = Movies and Onagaku = Music.

Japanese people often don’t have a lot of free time. These days both men and women are often working hard during the week at the office, so that only leaves some time in the evening or on the weekend for free time and some hobbies. With such little free time, basic things like eating and drinking can become hobbies and Japanese people can become very passionate about these activities.

When some Japanese people like a hobby they often become crazy about it, and will often devote their entire free time to it. This is especially true with some of the traditional arts and hobbies of Japan such as: flower arranging, tanka and haiku poetry, playing the game of go, and traditional ink painting which is what older people often do.

Young people enjoy going out to bars or clubs, drinking with friends, or even going to the computer or manga coffee shop. For housewives, their hobbies are mostly of shopping, cooking, going to a coffee shop, and some of the traditional arts. For men, especially businessmen, their hobbies would consist mostly of playing golf, drinking with their coworkers, hiking in the mountains, or going to a baseball game.

When you are involved in a hobby, you can use an expression for saying that you can do something such as: Watashi wa karate ga dekimasu = I can do karate You can also say: Watashi no shumi wa __________ desu. = My hobby is/are _____________. Watshi wa __________ ga suki desu. = I like _________________. Watashi wa ___________ ni kyoumi ga arimasu. = I am interested in __________________.

Of course you have to actually learn the pronunciation to be able to use these phrases.
There are many reason that one might want to learn Japanese. Some people are interested in Japanese because of the cultural phenomenon that many products from Japan have become... from video games to anime.

There are many reason that one might want to learn Japanese. Some people are interested in Japanese because of the cultural phenomenon that many products from Japan have become… from video games to anime.

Japan is also liked by many people because it has a strong traditional culture and a very strong business culture which has promoted Japan to being the second largest economy in the world.

For whatever your reason may be for learning a language like Japanese, you must remember a few things that learning a foreign language successfully means.

Japanese is one of the more difficult languages to learn for English speakers because it does not use the same script for reading and writing and also because it has few similar words with English.

European languages, especially the romance languages, are a lot easier for English speakers to learn because they share many grammatical similarities and the vocabulary is often similar due to Latin influences. So, it is very easy to pick up vocabulary in these languages because the words are so similar to the English words already.

This does not mean that learning Japanese is impossible, but rather that it is a bit more difficult to learn.

You need to have a strong reason for wanting to learn Japanese if you are going to become proficient in it.

If you really want to get to that high level in Japanese, you have to make sure that these reasons are foremost in your heart.

This can either be your interest in something like anime or it can be something like a business investment for your future.

Whatever the case may be, remember to keep this reason foremost in your mind and that will help bring the spark to keep you going in the long process which master a foreign language like Japanese entails. Good luck and I hope that you continue to make progress in learning Japanese.

Author Robertson Kunz has a language learning guide: learn a foreign language quickly. Japanese learners: learn fluent Japanese.
