Most people drink the water right from the tap without thinking about what is actually in it. If you are not aware, drinking tap water is extremely harmful to your health. With that said something that every home should have is drinking water filters.

Water filters are built to take out all the bad elements of your sink water. Did you know there are prescription drugs in it? They are considered to be one of the most common contaminants in water today. Just one of the many reasons you have to take a good hard look at the drinking water filter.

You can find tons of facts that pertain to the importance of water filters all over the internet. Several studies by various research institutes have found fungi, algae, bacteria, viruses, toxic chemicals, drugs, organic and inorganic compounds, heavy metals, and several other issues in your water. Do you really want to be consuming these on a daily basis? While one would be bad enough, but the combination of these can be extremely dangerous, even in small quantities.

One thing that you have to watch out for when it comes to tap water is the illnesses that come with drinking tap water. Drinking tap water has caused illnesses such as cholera, typhoid, and botulism.

Some of the more serious cancer-causing agents that are found by drinking tap water are benzene, and certain carcinogens that have been known to lead to cancer. With that said it’s hard to believe that there are still hundreds of thousands of homes that still do not have a water filtration system.

There is simply no way that body can handle some of the bacteria that are in tap water. The body is not set up to function properly with these things in it. So if an adult can’t handle most of these types of bacteria imagine what it does to a child’s body.

One – it can cause a lot of very serious diseases. Two, it can hinder your children’s normal growth and could lead to long term health problems as well. If you have children, it is absolutely essential that you get a good drinking water filter right now.

As you know, there are a lot of drinking water filters available today. Each of them is different and based on a different purification technology. In order to be able to make the right decision you need to know which one is mediocre and which one is the most effective.

According to studies, drinking water filters based on active carbon block filtration are considered the best at purifying water. While water purification technologies like reverse osmosis and point of use distillation are popular, they are not considered the best by experts.

One of the biggest advantages of buying an active carbon block drinking water filter is that it removes the chlorine from water and gives you tasty water. As you know, chlorine present in tap water makes it taste awfully bad. An active carbon block can easily remove it and give you pure and tasty water.

Some of the units that you buy may cost quite a bit of money, however there are some that will not burn a hole in your pocket. The best thing to do is to make sure that you compare the price and look at how much you spend on bottled water.

In the end, it simply can’t get any easier. You know you have a problem with your water, and there are drinking water filters that are inexpensive to purchase. Plus they are considered the best ones available. So it won’t be long before your worries are forgotten and you’re drinking healthy water again.

There are a lot of people out there that need whole house water treatment but are afraid of paying to much money and not getting anything in return. If you’re like me, you do not mind paying more for something as long as you do not get ripped off.

There is one company that claims to imbue your supply with health-giving qualities. They claim to accomplish this by including rare Japanese stones that are supposed to have antibacterial and anti fungal properties

While some minerals do have antibacterial and anti fungal properties, there is no scientific data to suggest that the Japanese stones contain those minerals. In addition, the dissolved minerals that are naturally found in freshwater have been absorbed over the course of many years.

Now as great as all this would sound if it worked it would be a good way to help purify your water supply. However, the best thing for you to do since there really isn’t a way that these rocks can contain these minerals is to forget about them and the $6,000 cost to get the system in your home.

When it comes to costs, you have to consider the cost of installation, the cost of operation and the cost of maintenance. Systems that require back-flushing also require the installation of a separate drain for wastewater disposal. Thats an additional expense that surprises many homeowners. There are effective systems on the market that do not require back-flushing.

Whole house water treatment equipment that includes a reverse osmosis step is expensive to purchase, install, operate and maintain. They all require back-flushing, as they all create wastewater.

You must remember they all require substantial amounts of electricity to operate, do you really want a larger utility bill? Maintenance, now this is something everyone forgets about, but even on the best machines parts wear, parts break. An efficient system is one that is maintained on a regular basis.

The most affordable, effective and efficient products require no electricity and no back-flushing. Installation can be performed by any certified plumber and only takes about an hour. Operation costs add up to about $17.75 per month. If you are currently drinking bottled, you will save about a thousand dollars per year.

Now with all of that said you can actually purchase a brand new water treatment system for your home for around a thousand dollars. The companies that make these do not make unrealistic claims that they will improve you health, but they will.

They dont add anything. They selectively filter. If there are naturally occurring minerals in your supply, they will still be present. If there are contaminants in your supply, they will be removed. It is contaminant removal that imbues healthfulness.

Depending on the quality of your source, you may need additional filtration devices on your kitchen sink. If you are unsure about the quality, have testing done first, to determine the necessary steps.

The best method to getting your water the cleanest is by using granular carbon filtering systems. That is because if you home is hooked up to public utilities reverse osmosis will actually take the minerals out of the water.

So taking a look back you must understand that you can get everything you need from a good water filtration system without spending the huge dollars it costs for Japanese rocks that are not effective. So get out there and take a step in getting cleaner and healthier water.

So have you finally realized how important it is to have a house water filter? You’ve probably read the plethora of reports on it and with the existence of such reports one would think that it would be obvious how important a water filter actually is. Strangely and unfortunately not everyone has quite realized how necessary this simple household item actually is.

Most individuals mistakenly believe that the EPA has the ability to save them from the evil contaminated water, but you also need to take into account exactly how difficult it is to actually clean the water. The EPA does what it can, but it can’t keep all the contamination at bay, after all, do you know how expensive it is?

The home water filter systems are quite needed for the reason that there has not been enough money available for waste water facilities to update their systems. They are currently still using demineralization units which worked some time ago, but do not work now. A complete overhaul of the systems would be in order to guarantee the health of every single person.

The EPA has even announced that house water filters are a good idea if you want to protect your family from the generous number of contaminants that are currently present in our water supply. They understand the shortcomings of the equipment that is currently being used by the treatment facilities. That is why the EPA has imposed allowable safe limits for contaminants in our water.

The reason that the EPA states that home water filter systems may be something that you want to look into is because despite the fact that they have set allowable limits for toxins in our water supply there truly are no safe amounts. The measurements that they have come up with are skewed, because when there are two or more chemical contaminants together they feed off of one another and their potency grows exponentially.

More than two thousand chemicals have been discovered in water that are carcinogens, or cancer causing germs. If you get a home water filter than you will be able to stop most of them, and it will keep everyone in your household safe.

Home water filters which have a granular carbon filter and multimedia block should do everything that you need as far as protection goes. A good unit will be capable of creating a sub micron filter and will get rid of any type of bacteria or heavy metal from the water. It will do a good job of keeping your pH balance in check.

If you, or anyone that you know thinks that house water filters are not an important part of our lives, then youd better think again. Our water is simply not safe for us to drink no matter what anyone may tell you to the contrary.

If you live outside of the service area of the nearest municipal water supply system, youre certainly in need of a well water filter. You might have heard from many companies that produce well water filters; most of them telling you that what you need is a home reverse osmosis system. While this isnt a bad idea, its not the whole answer.

A well water filter is necessary if you are drawing your water from a natural source, because that water is going to have to have all of the silt, and sediment removed from it before it can be considered fit to drink. Unfortunately, the demineralization of your water is not your only concern, and as a matter of fact it is not even the most important thing that you have to worry about.

The first thing to do is to have a specialist come out to your home and test your water quality. Before you look for a well water filter, youll want to know exactly what it is that you need to filter out of your water to make sure that its safe to use. A test tells you whats in your water and what to look for in a filter which can remove these potentially hazardous substances from your well water supply.

A well water filter usually has an activated carbon filter; this removes many of the chemicals typically found in city water supplies. However, when it comes to filtering well water, this kind of filter doesnt provide you with nearly enough protection on its own. Youll need something more advanced than this in order to ensure the safety of your well water for drinking, cooking and bathing.

Now one thing which its important to say here before we talk more about what you might want to look for in a filtration system ” a well water filter is often not the right answer. What you want is a water filtration system which will really provide you and the rest of your household with pure water; dont let yourself be swayed by salespeople trying to push a reverse osmosis system on you.

The best answer for the home using well water is a home water purification system which uses multiple types of filtration to ensure the safety of your water. More specifically, you need a system with four stacked filters ” one is designed for each of the four most common types of contaminants and impurities in well water.

Well water filters may offer you activated granular carbon, but what they do not give you is a multi media block for completing your chemical defense. They also wont offer you the protection of a sub micron filter for any biological contaminants that lived through the disinfection process, or an ion exchange for removing the traces of toxic heavy metals that leach off of the pipes that the water travels through.

A well water filter is not the answer to all of your problems, but the right high quality purification system is within your reach. It often comes at a much better price too.

You might disagree with me but hear me out on this. Under sink water filters have a great number of benefits and are certainly worth the investment. Much of the tap water nowadays is of dubious quality so having your drinking filtered water at home is your only protection.

Drinking and cooking with bottled water is expensive and it’s not as practical as using an under sink filter. Here are the top benefits of using under sink filters and why you should consider making the switch.

An under sink water filter can give you purified water whenever you want it for less than 10 cents a gallon. The carbon block or granular filtration process is efficient and thorough. Under sink water filters do not take up space in your kitchen. They are out of sight and out of the way. If you have a small kitchen this will be a big advantage.

It is very easy to install an under sink water filter. You can do it yourself, in fact, without even calling a professional plumber. A carbon filtration purification technology is used in under sink filters. It removes synthetic chemicals and organic materials efficiently and safely. A distillation and reverse osmosis type of system still requires carbon filters to remove contaminants completely.

It is important that a water filtration system take out the harmful contaminants while at the same time leaving in the minerals that are good for us. An under sink filter is able to accomplish this and provides chemical free, yet mineral enriched water. One of the biggest advantages to under sink filters is that they do not require any type of maintenance. The osmosis systems need both good water pressure and a diaphragm storage tank which take up a lot of space.

Under sink filters are extremely fast and efficient. In one hour they are able to purify as much as 30 gallons of water for drinking and cooking. Reverse osmosis and distillation can only purify a single gallon of water in 60 minutes. Under sink filters have the advantage of making the water much more flavorful as they efficiently remove chlorine and other chemicals.

You will no longer need filtering pitchers or attachments to your faucet with an under sink water filter. Fresh, delicious water will come directly from your faucet for all of your drinking and cooking needs. The water purified by an under sink water filter will also clean your dishes better. There will be no soap scum build-up. Your house will smell better and the quality of the air your breath will be greatly improved. The chlorine and chemicals previously released into the air in the steam will no longer pollute your air.

An under sink filter purification system has so many benefits when compared to other types of water purification options. If you are interested in having readily available, affordable drinking water in your home for your daily needs, it is the option to consider.

Derek Reeve is a passionate researcher of the best and safest drinking water purification systems which are the most effective, efficient and affordable products available.
